The above 9 names are just statistics for the record. Can you add the other 8 or more to this list please. No one died in 2006 ? Hmmm..... maybe.....just maybe, it could be your child next year....yes ? Can't imagine....huh, yeah right ?

And you, as a parent must willingly send your child off ( yes...it's a National call to serve the nation !) to our very own Gulag or Auschwitz systems or be dragged and damned in our courts.

So who IS responsible for your child ? Who "benefits" from all this, do you as a parent, the child ( if returns alive), the government, the operators ( connected to the government) of the camp, the contractors who have a new found lively hood to supply essentials/transport/uniforms/food et cetera to these numerous camps all over the country, and a host of other closely "domino- linked" cronies ?????

The names are of real children, and the numbers too are for real and still counting ! Think "tax-ringgits" folks ! Think !!

well researched. Yep, many speculated that the NS is just another crony enrichment exercise.

Hi Stephen, …I read a few blogs about this NS recently. Everyone is crying out loud in their blogs. Yes everyone is frustrated. There are many of us giving feedback, but what is the outcome of these?. Who listens? You, me and the readers. What is the point when the people behind the NS programme never hear our shouts. What action can we do to stop them from continuing. Look at today’s STAR when Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye says “NS is good for youths”. How much do you think he is paid to even say that? OMG… I had tears rolling down just reading the head line itself. Has he no feelings?. How can he? I know, because he didn’t loose his daughter or son in the camp right ? I suppose none of them Ministers are sending their flesh & blood to these camps. Then Najib said, the medical reports submitted by the students will not be enough, and that now the students will be sent to doctors of their choice (NS choice) for a second screening – did I read that right from few days ago news papers ? So that is going to be appointing of another one of their doctor friends to earn the extra right? All of us bloggers keep collecting statistics of deaths from year to year… still there is no stop to this. I have a 15 year old and a 7 year old, both boys. Come my time, I rather be jailed than to hand my sons to the NS !! Anyone..Someone..Whoever.. Please help to safe our innocent children please..

Yes, I think it is time for the NS to be stopped. We are never going to go to war and even if we were, the kids who are interested in taking up the military profession can join the army, navy or air force. Those who fail can even become security guards.
I think it is better to teach children discipline and for them to be in harmony with our beautiful country. Not go through a torrid, life-threatening time within the confines of natural beauty as offered in NS camps.
Children should be thought the art of fishing, farming and other agriculture stuff as we're running out of people who are interested in these fields. They should start thinking of defending the country against a World Food Crisis, which is more dangerous than war.

what's the big deal. ask the DG, one or two deaths wont stop this program. or that ex- health minister who thinks that death rate is negligible against the number of particpants and therefore acceptable as he was having a great time fucking elsewhere.
hey, cant scrap it cause too many parties are involved. well, it just means that fuck you guys for all the complaints, the fat cats are more important. deaths are just statistics. money is the REAL THING.

Scrap the damn program- lives are at stake here. It's managed like crap that's why people are dying. I think people will start opting to go to jail rather than NS.

RACISM & MARGINALIZATION REARING ITS UGLY HEAD AGAIN IN APPLICATION FOR SCHOLARSHIPS?
May 13, 2008 on 9:41 pm

I do not intend to leave this matter alone!
Do you know that young Avinash Nair scored the following in the recent SPM:

BAHASA MALAYSIA - 1A SATU
BAHASA INGGERIS - 1A SATU
PENGETAHUAN MORAL - 1A SATU
SEJARAH - 1A SATU
MATHEMATICS - 1A SATU
ADDITIONAL MATHEMATICS - 1A SATU
PRINSIP AKAUN - 1A SATU
PHYSICS - 1A SATU
CHEMISTRY - 1A SATU
BIOLOGY - 1A SATU
TASAWWUR ISLAM - 2A DUA
ENGLISH FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY - 2A DUA

I am advised that he applied for a JPA and MARA scholarship and I am told by the family who are really poor that his application was rejected!

I am totally ’shell shocked’ in view of his excellent acadamic achievement!

‘Sources’ tell me that cannot be true as they ranked him - ‘1′ in most of the questionaire catergories!

So tell me what went wrong?

Makes me ’sick in the stomach’ and I intend to take this higher!

Yes - right up to the attention of PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and DPM Najib Tun Razak as this is totally unacceptable!
