AMI- 2 golfers and a blogger !

It could have been just an ordinary day like in any other weekend....but no ....it turned out to be the most messiest Saturday of all !First the damn traffic crawl.....hmmm ....it took me 2 freaking hours to get from Happy Gardens Off Jalan Kuchai to Megamall....a distance of about 4 kilometers ! Then the traffic diversion....all traffic from Klang, PJ and Subang Jaya and Old Klang Road or coming from the south or the west were channelled into 1 lane leading to Brickfields ! Sheeesh !!!

I refused to move any further from Brickfields...I decided I'd park my car and get on the monorail to Maharajaleela station. I'd rather walk in the sweltering heat then burn good oil to further damage the ozone !

Below are photographs of what I saw on my walk to the Selangor Padang where the city centre was at a virtual stand-still and looked hauntingly surreal. What has become of Malaysia ? We are always reminded that these protest and marches are NOT the Malaysian way ! Bullshit ! I say....IF we indeed had an ideal system would there be so many taking to the streets ? Instead of blaming the simple folks who had made this arduous journey from as far away as Kelantan and Kedah just to be a part of a walk or march in frustrated protest of a law that is deemed draconian or "zalim"....then somebody up there, better sit up and pay attention .......something IS very wrong with the system !

The rest of march ......is their divine RIGHT to assemble and voice their opinion as human beings in this here great God's land !

.....as I walked from Maharajaleela Station through Central Market to Dayabumi station and saw pocket of people making their way to Jalan Kinabalu near Masjid Negara......

...and saw to my right, an almost deserted road towards the Selangor Padang save for the now familiar sight of these heavy machinery.....compliments of the PDRM.....

more and more people were flowing out from the Dayabumi building towards the Masjid Negara

....then the first salvo of tear-gas hit the streets and some shot near the entrance of the Dayabumi to keep the people from spilling out in the streets....

Nizar the ousted MB of Perak was spotted at the junction of the Abdul Samad Building accessing the situation....

...and from the junction of the Selangor Padang near the great flag-pole more tear-gas was fired on the streets to keep the people off the streets...... welcome to the Kuala Lumpur "war-zone"

....by now the air was reeking with the tear-gas and my eyes was beginning to tear uncontrollably and my face was stinging with irritation.....from the hazy tear-gas filled environment....

...while these "friends" were comfortably numb to the effects of what they were dispensing.....

...and from the ledges of the Bukit Aman Building......some grand-stand observers.....

....while the marchers ran helter-skelter on the "independence" field......

.....more people running like cornered cats.....from the putrid air all around ...

....it is sad to see one being cornered and blasted with chemical laced water and tear-gas....but run they did as one cannot face the might and arsenal ensemble of the PDRM....

click on the picture to see how old this man is....and had to flee the area.....very sad , indeed !

...some members of the PDRM were even at hand to direct the many "runners" to a safe passage.....but to the curses of the many who only brushed-off their unwarranted "help"....

...this old man sizing-up the height he has to jump to safety to escape the onslaught of the mighty PDRM's water- cannons and dizzying tear-gas.....

.....but with a little help from "some" ....this old man was safely assisted down......is this old pachik thankful for that extra "helping-hand" ???

...and along comes an "angel" helping an old lady down the same pathway....does anyone care if they were old anymore ??? Yes....I guess, some of course do.....

......and the "angel" went on taking more photos..... of the PDRM armoury...

....what's this landing for ? refuelling or replenishment for aerial bombardment of tear-gas ? Have they got "landing"rights ?.....

....it must have been tough for these tired child and women-folk, as they take a break after making a defiant statement that all is NOT right with the system.....

And that was how an almost ordinary day was screwed.......and no thanks to the PDRM for the senseless closure of roads to "frustrate " the general populace !
Sheeeesh
!!!!

Appreciate your personal documentation of 189. The Rakyat never looked better. PDRM & the Barisan Najis never looked worse.

Bro,
thanks for the comment. Am breaking away from the "herd mentality". Guess the blame is always laid on the "anti ISA" protesters, never the pro ISA marchers or the police, why ? Are they not the major contributing factors for the city coming to a stand-still ? Sad ain't it bro. I blame the police squarely for the traffic cock-up. Yet they come out looking like they did everything right and ONLY the anti-ISA protesters were the reason, commuters became enraged being stuck in massive jams. btw I actually never encountered any pro-ISA protesters all day.....were they there or were they none other
then the PDRM themselves ! Theirs is a reason just to counter any action by the anti-ISA group, they are a phanthom/dummy body to create and instill that familiar fear we're been fed with for the past 52years and now begining to ignore and dare to challenge, long live the rakyat !

I believe that more and more malaysian are wising up to the fact that the government controlled media do not give accurate report but slanted reports of incidents like these. More people will join the more demos until people's power prevail. Until that happens don't give up.

The road closures and other actions taken to frustrate ordinary Malaysians and visitors are done deliberately to generate ill-feeling towards the protesters.

And, reading some of the comments in some of the blogs, this effort is paying off. Not only are some people refusing to get involved, they are also blaming the marchers for the traffic congestion and loss of business.

That is 1Malaysia.

Shanghai Fish said...

Yes2ISA,
Send the bill to the marines.....or better still to the PDRM.
PDRM should be held accountable as they were the only real culprits in causing such traffic chaos in magnified proportions that led to closure of shops and burning of corbon monoxide in the massive jams frustrating one poor soul who missed out buying her Jimmy Choo shoes ! Yeah...send the bill to the PDRM. Now getoutamyface.....kapish ?

Yo SS,

One thing is for certain, these Pro-ISA perps can't count.

Let's see -

a) ONLY 30 of em turned up on the day coz they can't count beyond that,

b) RM100 million loss by the businesses in the area? Sure or not - must be some cheap ferraris and lamborghinis for sale, eh bro.

Shang, I wouldn't bother about some cut/paste and coached bloggers who have recently appeared in blogosphere. Yes2isa asked about the billions. How did the Nong Cheek guy came out with this figure. Yes, the businesses who claimed that they lost money should sue GMI etc....then we will see the fun when we discover how they evaded taxes. If they have guts, they should sue. They should hire the Magaran legal advisor who lied that he was sucessful in sending the memo to the Palace. With all the cut and paste knowledge that yes2isa has mustered he should volunteer as some aide to this lying-legal advisor....kind of like crows of a feather flocking together or something like that, huh.

And shanghai, you should maintain the integrity of your blog. You cannot allow creeps like anon9:49pm in. We encourage COMMENTS related to the post....but not personal insults. That is gutter mentality.Free speech has its boundaries.

I was there, I'm anti-ISA and proud about it. The idea of democracy is everyone is entitled to their own view. Substantiate your reasons,if not, its not worth a cent.

You come into my blog to insult my Taiping buddy. Have you no balls to tell him in his blog ? Even in "free speech" there's a thing called decency...it's call "common courtesy"... and you seem to lack both.
Why don't you start your own blog and write whatever you please.( i.e. IF you can write !)
Sheeeesh....creep back into that hole you came out from ! There seem to be too many critters like you these days scrounging the cyberspace.

This was what Anwar said about the ISA on 24 May 1994 when he was Deputy Prime Minister while officiating a "Mesyuarat Agung Antarabangsa ke 27, Majlis Ekonomi Lembangan Pasifik (PBEC)" in Kuala Lumpur, Anwar Ibrahim said:

“Walaupun keadaan dalam negara sekarang adalah baik, namun tidak dapat dinafikan kemungkinan berlakunya ketegangan. Dalam keadaan seperti itu kebijaksanaan untuk mempertahankan ISA adalah perlu demi keamanan negara. Adalah tidak wajar untuk menghapuskan Akta Keselamatan Dalam Negeri (ISA) yang terbukti berkesan membawa keamanan dan kemakmuran di negara ini.”

On 28th Oktober 1987, Anwar's statement when he was Education Minister on the arrest under ISA of both BN and Opposition members during Operation Lallang:

“The goverment’s decision to ban all public rallies showed that it placed national security above the aspirations of certain politicians and political parties…..The government’s actions were carefully planned and placed priority on national interest not that of any particular group. There can be no compromise on national security in a multiracial country like ours.”

Fast forward to 1st August 2009, this is what Anwar Ibrahim defacto Opposition Leader and wannabe PM said in the anti ISA demonstration:

“We gather today to fight a cruel law under a cruel administration..”
