Call me ignorant, but yes, can anyone please tell me how many support personnel accompany Datin Paduka Sharifah Mazlina Syed Abdul Kadir on her expeditions to all these poles she hikes and ski-sails "solo" and now has been honoured and immortalised in the nations postage stamps ?
And why does she have to be funded by the everyday' tax-payers' and not by private corporations like everybody else, for her expeditions with a portion of the sales of stamps and first-day covers ? Look here I'm not being critical or as some will label me "unpatriotic". But seriously I do certainly support any 'daring' and darling of an adventurer undertaking such a dangerous mission just to get our flag, the 'Jalur Gemilang', planted on a barren, god-forsaken sheet of ice where nobody else but fellow adventurers visit. So what are we actually gaining from all this ?
As the DPM said, the government supports anyone trying to boost the country's image !Maybe we should let our "masconaut"(a malaysian astronaut!!!) to float our Jalur Gemilang in space to infinity, when he is out there on his space-walk instead of playing 'chongkak' !
Pray tell me how is this so ? And is she on her own though-out the entire journey or as a little bird told me, she's got her medic, luggage-carrier, publicist/communicator and photographer tagging along her "solo" trip.... otherwise how else can she get all those beautiful shots of her ski-sailing the ice on her own..!!!
The government should really take a damn long look at their priorities and grant due recognition deservingly, and not to anyone embarking on ambitious 'record breaking' feats !
Just wondering-lah....... why that 'sailor' Datuk Azahar or that whatshisname 'English Channel' conqueror or even that Everest climbing duo where not given the same accolade-lah ......hmmmm, thats all..... to all my muslim friends and brothers "Selamat Aidiladha" and to all a very "Happy New Year"!!

as for that datin paduka, surely you know by now why malaysian politicians are so excited about her. no, it's not because she's one cold woman. or one hot lady (which is why she has to be in freezing places all the time; if the Japs had made refrigerators big enough, she could sleep in them!).
the reason, mr fish, is because she is one malaysian woman, and a malay too, who is allowed to move her body, sway her hips on those skis, and remind us that she is doing it all solo with a pole.

Ada tiga perkara yang saya ingin sebut di ruang ini tentang expidisi Kutup Utara oleh Dato'.
1. Dato' telah mengguna kedudukan yang Dato' ada untuk menipu rakyat Malaysia tentang expidisi ini. Dengan kedudukan Dato' dan hubungan dengan orang-orang berpengaruh di politik Malaysia Dato' telah mengutip banyak wang untuk kepentingan pribadi. Tindakan Dato' telah merosakkan reputasi expedisi lain oleh orang yang benar-benar patriotik untuk melakukannya demi negara. Akibatnya ramai orang telah memandang serong terhadap ekspedisi lain. Masyarakat telah menganggap ekspidisi lain mempunyai muslihat mencari duit sebanyak mungkin di samping kemashhuran yang palsu.
2. Dato' sebenarnya juga seorang penipu yang telah dengan licik menipu rakyat Malaysia tentang ekspidisi ini. Dato' berpura-pura
seperti Dato' telah berjaya sebaliknya tiada satupun scene yang Dato boleh tunjukkan untuk membuktikan bahawa Dato' telah berjaya menjejaki kutup utara. scene dalam video hanya menunjukkan perkara remeh temeh termasuk pakaian yang dipakai dan sedikit scene tentang kesusahan mengheret bag dan tidur dalam kemah... . Dato' sebenarnya telah menghabiskan wang rakyat untuk bercuti di Canada dan lain-lain tempat untuk ekspidisi ini. Bila sampai kononnya di kutub utara Dato' menjerit seperti DOREIMON ' eeh saya sudah sampai... " begitukah gelagat seorang yang telah berjuang untuk melakukan sesuatu yang luar biasa, malah itu semua hanya sandiwara Dato' untuk mengabui mata rakyat Malaysia yang bodoh yang boleh percaya dengan perkara yang bodoh seperti itu.
3. Dato Mazlina adalah seorang tenaga akademik yang paling bahlul di Malaysia apabila dalam misi menawan kutub utara Dato' menyatakan bahawa Dato' akan menanam al-Quran di kutub utara. Mana Dato' belajar perkara pelek ini. apa yang ada dalam kepala hotak dato sehingga boleh timbul perkara ini ? Bertaubatlah daripada perbuatan ini dan mohonlah ampun dari Allah. Juga disarankan juga agar Dato' memohon maaf kepada rakyat Malaysia yang Dato' bohong tentang ekspidisi menawan kutub utara ini bahawa ini hanya satu drama bersama team yang telah merancang untuk mengutip tajaan Kami mencabar Dato' supaya menunjukkan sepenuhnssi ekspidisi yang mencabar dan supaya sesi sesi ekspidisi yang dilalui dan bukannya tunjuk bag pakaian. Kalau Dato' tak boleh buat perkara ini jangan mendakwa kejayaan ini satu pencapaian sebaliknya ingatlah rakyat Malaysia bukan semuanya bodoh.
