No smoke without fire !

Have you noticed the pictorial warnings on cigarette packets these days ?
It really is traumatising to view the pictures, especially the picture of a baby !.... but hey.....our Health Ministry in Malaysia has made a booboo again of the warning messages !

Just take a good look at the warnings written on both sides of each cigarette packet in English and Bahasa (go get a pack and read for yourselves...the photos are "al blur" ...taken with my cell-phone camera in bad light !)

Cigarettes don't cause miscarriages or throat and mouth cancer ! Trust me...if they really caused death via the above said diseases then all employees of cigarette manufacturing and distributing companies would have died or would be stricken with the diseases, right ?
It is SMOKING cigarettes that causes the above listed deformities...."smoking cigarettes" and not cigarettes, stupid !

Guess some big cigarette company will be suing the Health Ministry for misleading advertisements, yes ? Or would they just slyly grin and say, "semuanya okay "?

Which bring me to the point of the double standards set by this government......did you know of the millions of "business loan" ringgits granted to tobacco farmers/ planters, big and small, in the eastern states of our peninsular ?

Now why would the government approve such grants/loans in the first place and then spend millions again on "Tak Nak" cigarette campaigns and threaten the very livelihood of these farmers and their families, huh ? Will they consider banning the import of cheap cigarette lighters from China next...."no light...no fire" so nobody can light his cigarette....huh ?

All this pictures are making me "sick".......hmmmm.....got to end now for a "cigarette break"...to calm my nerves !

I saw this a few years ago in Singapore. I thought it was scary.. I just picked the ones that didn't have the pictures..hahahah..

It is a dilemma isn't it how to support the planting of tobacco and deterring people from cigarettes. What would you suggest the government do? Just export? Wow.. I think I want to plant tobacco as well. May get to be rich finally, if it is sold only overseas!

Ya, the pictures are enough to make one quit smoking. The English (and Bahasa Malaysia? Melayu?) are so glaringly horrendous! It should be as you rightly said, Smoking causes lung cancer. Rokok or merokok? Kanser leher??? Do they mean neck cancer? Must be a new type of cancer! How typically stupid!

These Health ministry mutts can say anything they like. i DONT give a damn whether smoking can kill. I smoke because I love it. My message to the ministry is simple - mind your business. If you ministry officials have nothing better to do, I suggest you go the bathroom and shake it out. If i want to die, that's my business, not yours. Understand, bodoh. Stupid idiots. I urge Malaysians to smoke more in defiance of the stupid ministry. Let there be smoke. Cheers from Tanjong Rambutan pub where I am enjoying my Malboro.

Just put the following on ciggy packs and all over public places. Less traumatizing to the kids, too.

"Cigarette: A fire at one end and a fool at the other," or

"Hundreds stop smoking every day - by dying…"

But then, Malaysians never have really been into reading. Rather spend the money on that butt. Besides how to translate into the local lingo...a picture speaks a 1000 languages, I suppose.

On a related matter, our venerable Kelantan MB said something to this effect recently: A cow which defecates in the middle of the road, we can understand because it cannot really think; but human beings, who have brains, for them to do something which is wrong in religion and health wise, they can be regarded as being more despicable than cows."

Well, I paraphrased his statement a little, but you get the idea.

I have just increased my cigarette intake to three packets a day from two. Any problem with it, you Ministry of Health mutts? Instead of preying on smokers, the ministry should be telling their doctors to do a decent job instead of sleeping on the job. Understand? Bodoh.

double standard biasa lah bang in Government. On one hand, they say "masyarakat penyang", yet they allow families to be destroyed by protecting gaming clubs!
Even in so called "secular India", you cannot even find a lottery. In lembah Klang, you have 70 over slot machine clubs destroying addicts!

Why stop at three NSTman, go all the way and have five maybe six even. And when you fall ill have another six, don't seek the help of the doctors.
