Sack the racist Minister !

This is the "towering" Malaysian and who is also the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Mr. Jamaludin Jarjis (or is it "Najis"?) who recently uttered derogatory remarks against all 'dark skinned' Malaysians of Indian origin and that too, in a land where every spoken word has to be "politically correct" ! Below I reproduce the letter from Malaysiakini, written by a Dr. Sheela Moorthy...and surf here too for more....!

Apology demanded from racist minister Dr Sheela Moorthy May 2, 07 2:52pm

I am a Malaysian currently living in the USA. I am supporting the education of my sister who is enrolled at CalPoly, California. The reason I am writing this letter is to express my disgust and anger regarding comments passed by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Jamaludin Jarjis during a working visit to California recently. He was present at a gathering organised by the Malaysian Consulate for the students to meet him. The purpose of this meeting was for them to address any concerns or queries they had. Being away from home, we all know that we love to meet our fellow-countrymen regardless of what color or creed they may be. And being brought up in the true Malaysian way, we were thought to respect each other and look beyond the shallowness of skin color. This was not the case with our minister. He made several derogatory remarks about Indians in general, about how they were brought in as 'buruh kasar' and at one point asked my sister about how many Indians were in her batch of students. My sister answered him saying there were two of them. The other Indian student was fair-skinned and was actually sitting at the same table as the minister.
He did not realize that this student was also an Indian and went on saying that he must be a 'high class’ Indian and then pointed at my sister and said that she must be a ‘low class’ Indian as she was darker skinned. I am appalled that we have people like this sitting at the helm and trying to run a multi-racial country. I urge all Malaysian to stand together and voice out against weeds like this who give our country a bad image. I demand an apology from him and I want him to take responsibility for his words and I believe that malaysiakini is one of the venues to voice my dissatisfaction.

And with that ladies and gentlemen, after 50 years as an independent nation, all Malaysians, that means you too !... you decide what punishment, if indeed is necessary for a scum like this... !

i'd like to know if dr sheela moorthy was witness to the minister's alleged despicable act. or was she writing the letter on behalf of her sister.
if the minister indeed had been utterly reckless and insensitive in his speech, then, yes, he should be suitably dealt with.

There is this mongrel breed of people who believe that they are untouchables becasue they are the government. I try not to hate the government, but when the government choose to opt for the familiar "close one eye" sweep under the carpet, how not to hate the government. I am not anti-government, but I an anti those who are anointed by the government. And until today your friend Samy has not emerged from the rat-hole-darkness that he is hidding in to champion his people. He definitely also belongs to the above breed....they congregate by instinct.

For much too long UMNO idiots from Pak Lah down to the lowest branch have been making RACIST remarks with others and getting away with it.

UMNO leaders have abrogated to themselves the right to exhort and practise crass racism, WRONGLY, I REPEAT, WRONGLY interpreting this as nationalism. If others were to hit back at them in the same vein, the govt would not hesitate to detain the person and charge him with sedition.

This is what we mean by double standards in Bolehland. No wonder all the ills of the country can never be resolved because the one responsible for them continues to perpetrate them as if it is their god given divine right.

This is the age of globalization. All Malaysians, especially the malays, must make UMNO realize that they cannot make racist remarks against others and get away with it.

That idiot, Jamaluddin Jarjis, should be exposed for his crass racism and punished. If the govt refuses to do this, it is the duty of all to expose their sham and hypocrisy to the world...right up to the UN.

Old Blood-shot Eye, eh.

Only you would think of it.

But we both know what kind of eye we'd give JJ if we could get him into dark alley somewhere, don't we, bro.

This is a good classic case of our Ministers doing a 'hit & run' overseas.

If this is being brought up to the cabinet, I can bet that the following excuses may be given to the rakyat, even by the great Samy Vellu himself :

i) This is an isolated case & the rakyat should be thankful that it never occured in Malaysia (indirectly telling the rakyat that its a 'free world' out there and they can say anything), or...

ii) There is no evidence that such a thing occured as it was not captured by any press (which press overseas would be interested with that nut anyway rite...), or....

iii)The person reporting this may just be making up a story to create disharmony among the Malaysian community and maybe all out to instill hatred towards the Government (this is very likely something they'll come out with), or....

iv)The Minister could just be joking but it was wrongly interpreted(in the event if there was evidence captured but they may counter the evidence this way, and last but not least....

v) It was probably a 'slip of tongue resulting from the hand of God' (no need to mention who would say this rite....)

Well, dont forget that in Bolehland anything is impossible what else if outside Bolehland rite... :-)

Hello Uncle Zorro

Cannot la make sweeping statement like that. I am a mongrel too! :) BigDog some more!

Hahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhaaha :)

Hello Mr Fish,

Cannot lah call his father "Najis". Jarjis is his father. His father got nothing to do with what ever your complain is. Got to be fair to him also lah.....

He is quite fair is he not? Goodness.., come to think of it, maybe he also have that same philosophy among his own kaum.

Unfortunately, he is not the only bad apple (to put it very mildly) in the BN.
It is replete with people of the same ilk.

yes, this Jarjis..i met him before in a business meeting. He is one that is not responsible for what he says...and if fired by hot issues...he will just turn his bloody back side and forget about the issue... i believe he is drunk when he "spit" out that slendering statement about the Malaysian Indians... well thats wahat happen to drunken ministers...talking shit...
By the way.. I am a proud Malaysian surrounded by many Indian and Chinese friends...we tolerate and respect each other..
