Shame, shame...Assunta Hospital !

It really sickens me to know how a solemn oath taken by all doctors and "Florence Nightingales" has a price tag attached...!!(here)... Hippocrit's oath or hippocrite's oath huh ???

What is happening to the very meaning of decent living ? Must everything be equated to dollars and cents ? More so if it is an emergency and a matter of life and death....My heart goes out to the 21 year old son, Yek Yow Ngan, who must have pleaded with the Assunta Hospital staff to treat his critically injured mother...shame...shame...!! If only the staff concerned can put themselves in this young man's shoes now !

And even more shocking is the very nature of the accident...the road-bullies...Can you imagine the fear they put in a person (doesn't matter if it is a man or woman, young or old !) just for the sake of terrorising the victims ? And these cowards only pick on a lone victim when they are in a pack....no different from "mat-rempits". Just a bunch of spineless morons who get courage in numbers ! Oopss! this kind of scumbags have the blessings and encouragement from UMNO ,right ??... Sheeesh !!

Calling all decent Malaysians, come on people ...it is about time, we, the tax-paying and peace loving citizens start 'fighting back'... report any scene of road-bullying or packs of mat-rempits behaving untowardly in any public places...and let the police be notified immediately of the situation and location... the police must respond to all calls of the public and you must follow up with the police as to the out-come of your report. Make your presence felt and don't be taking this crap from no one...nobody's going to bully you again..maybe even put a reward out to nab these low lives !!

I am indeed very upset with the state of affairs in this country... looks like Malaysians have lost all morals and decency and we are thrown back into a barbaric era ! Can the authorities come down really really hard and weed out the perpetrators and give us the hope that there is still a chance to redeem our faith in the present government ??? I know it is a far fetched hope...but..........sigh !
Once again...SHAME...SHAME...ASSUNTA HOSPITAL !!!
*STOP PRESS- The Malay Mail, with the help of an anonymous businessman, is offering a reward of RM2,000.00 to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the road-bullies, responsible for the death of Yek Yow Ngan, 51, will also be putting cut-out posters for readers to post, in their papers daily until "justice is seemed, served "! Bro,

Indeed, this is sickening. Everything is money, money and more money. Decency, accountability, morality - all good things - take a back seat in the case of these competitive private hospitals.
Of course, they have to make a buck. But social responsibility is also a tenet they must uphold.
Yeah, shame on this hospital.
You know what bro? This could have been avoided if our govt hospitals improve their services. I, for one, do not mind if I have to pay slightly more, for as long as the service is good.
You know UMMC has the private wing that makes life easier for non-civil servants who can at least afford fairly good service without having to burn too large a hole in their wallets.
Wake up la Health Ministry...Simply sickening lah this...So is the irony of a place that's supposed to save lives ending up to the loss of one more "patient". Hope they can sleep at night...

Haven't we heard of this before. Yet we don't have a proper answer. Imagine if you, me or someone close to us falls in such an unwanted situation. Hmmm...

If I'm not mistaken, Malay Mail is handing out RM7000 (RM2000 from a businessman and another RM5000 from an avid reader). Cheers!

Dear anonymous 2.47am,
This is the same crap the police give...asking the public not to speculate...why should'nt we?? Afterall this is the game plan...not to speculate because they (the police) don't have a clue...if only there had been CCTV at strategic junctions near traffic lights...hmmm there can be some lead... as usual they actually think we, the tax paying citizens are all morons !Probably negotiating with the king-pins to fix on scrape-goats !
And before you know it all is forgotten and we move on the "speculating" on something else new !!!

dear bro stephen......Assunta hospital was founded by the Missionaries of Mary (FMM) in 1951.......The Hospital was built through the generosity of the public, Social Welfare Department, local and government grants. It was one of the first private hospitals in Petaling Jaya.

......and the noble philosophy during the early days.......Every person is created by God and is equal in the sight of God.

The object of the hospital is to serve all in need of treatment with respect, care and devotion owed to a creature of God.

Since all are equal in the sight of God, all persons, whatever their nationality, race, belief or social status are deserving of equal respect.

Patients must be treated as whole persons with particular care for their feelings as well as their physical needs.....all these pleges and philosophies have changed when business men hungry for opportunities sneaked themselves into the once humble Assunta hospital.

these so called board of directors should be put in prison in the case of the late Yek Yow Ngan, i can imagine how the son pleaded for the seriously injured mother to be treated and you guys gave him a hard time because of money.......dont forget it could happen to your love ones.

you have also shamed the sultan of selangor with his philosophy during the lauching of the new wing the sultan's remarked.......“The hospital has grown with Petaling Jaya and it is this unique relationship that has made it one of the major landmarks of Petaling Jaya.

I hope the hospital will continue its noble efforts of helping those in need.”

- HRH Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah

i suggest the board of directors change the good name of Assunta Hospital to As Sun Ta ....(money is there we will treat)...have another name for you guys but hate to degrade the poor innocent Unta...my deepest condonlence to the family of the late Yek Yow Ngan

dear anonymous of 9.17,
It is indeed sad to see how our very culture has been compromised for the exchange of money... sad to admit, but this craving is irreversable as once we taste the joys money can buy... it is never easy to go back to the old ways of morals, values and beliefs !
Lets all pray in our own way for a miracle !After all we all believe in GOD !
