Criminals here...there and everywhere !

A 25 year old woman was reportedly abducted by 4 persons in Shah Alam on the 28 November. The abductors were seen driving off in a silver Toyota Camry.
Then on 2 December, a 20 year old graphic designer was bundled into a Toyota Vios right in front of her house in Subang Jaya.
Both the above victims were released, yes, but after they were forced to withdraw substantial sums of money from their savings accounts and gang raped. ( read here and here )
This is the current state of affairs in Malaysia. A way of life here in Malaysia ! All one has to do is 'click' on the search button on "gang-rape" of all the major newspaper and you'd get an endless list of this despicable crime being committed all over the country be they kids or young adults.
What is being done by the police, the very guardians of all of us, tax-payers' protectors ? It is always the same story they harp on........individuals to take care and be wary when travelling alone or that a task force has been set-up to nab the criminals or not enough man-power ... blah...blah...blah ! There's just too much of these heinous crimes going on and the percentage of "capture" is minimal ! Nobody seems to actually look at the crimes seriously....yes, and all is forgotten once a new and different crime is committed and gives everyone something "new" to talk about ! Remember we all have families too...and as long as they are okay, there's nothing to panic ! Tell me, do you feel "safe" anymore ?
And it still "chills me to the bone" to know that Nurin's killer/killers is/are still walking the streets after more then 100 days and just maybe even part-taking in these and other crimes ! Maybe the only thing safe now to say is the file on Nurin's wanton rape-cum-murder is almost brushed aside, forgotten and/or closed !
God bless and protect all your children......cos we cannot depend or rely on our cops !

look at the housing estates in PJ and you find that the residents there have engaged private security firms to have some form of deterence against crime although everybody knows that the effectiveness is limited. its a damantion on the failure of the police to provide basic security, nothing less nothing more. what has the authorities been doing? let me tell you what are their priorities:-

1. investigate their own people who are now charged for fabricating evidence. to whose benefit? a man known to be a underworld kingpin and who has a chequered history.

2. resources used to set-up and man road blocks to deter peaceful gatherings which were only illegitimate to the extent determined by the police themselves.

3. resources deployed to investigate any reports made by UMNO or ministers and that with unusual lightning speed. ( for reports made by others, its either tortoise pace or dust gathering)

4. teams of traffic police to catch speedsters especialy at places where the speed limit is 90 km or below.

The failure of the cops is clearly reflected in the crime rate which had shot up tremendously over the past years. And the responsible Minister which happened to have big big ears is not hearing.

This is Boleh Land a.k.a. Feel Good Land.

You think they will really care whether we live or we die?

I gave up on them long ago.

By the way, are you sure both of them were raped? From what I read from the Star report you linked, it seems that only the woman who was kidnapped last Sunday was raped.

Unless you have other reports which supports that such was the case, I think you should rephrase your sentence carefully, it would be very damaging for her reputation if this misunderstanding is allowed to go on.

to dan-yel,
For your benefit and for all I've linked both the Star and NST reports. And I have also edited the posting so as to NOT identify the victims. Thanks for your input.

Police are too busy chasing after demonstrators. Police are too busy doing the dirty work of Umno. That we have to employ private security firms to guard us is a measure of how rotten the powers-that-be have become.

The police defied the Royal Commission. They still refuse to implement the IPCMC. What message does it give out to the criminals? They are still taking. As long as they take we can buy them....and of course the judiciary also.

igp is planning to parachute himself into BN. guess he wants a ministerial post. if not, i am just wondering why he is making all sort of political statements. i thought the ;olice is suppossedly to be apolitical and its main function is to uphold law and order. may be that can explain the frightening rise in crime rate, no?

We here in Sarawak and Sabah towns and cities are not spared the wrath.
Police work is to conduct procedures and process after the crime. Always victims are scrutinize worst than criminals. There are little on no effort(cannot spare the time too)for preventive measures.
Patrol cars go around town yet the visible crimes float around. Do not speak of the dark street crimes committed, traffic offences they cannot control. Cases like bright white lights(though a responsibility of JPJ), sport exhaust and dark screened vehicles (usually associates with the bad hats), local rempits with their load exhaust are good enough examples.
Do not drive around town and waste public funds. Wait at corners and your catch will be more rewarding , but that is extra work(maybee extra personal funds..."mauh jadi kawan atau mauh lawan", the common sentence.)
