This was the general theme for last night's candle-light vigil- the twelth !
Not a word !
As there was no permit for yesterday's gathering and the numerous road-blocks I had to manoeuvre before reaching the PJ Civic Centre car-park and with the NO show of any of the PKR state aduns or representatives in sight, coupled with the all present members of the special branch with camcorders rolling, all we could do was gather for about 40 minutes in silence but sang the "Negaraku" with pride and dispersed quietly, there is nothing I can write today !
The brave, caring and voting citizens for the abolishment of the ISA demands to know where the state representatives where and why no permit was applied ?
Watch-out for this space as for now, I am now pissed !

look at the rally in Penang by BN-backed organisations. why are they given the permit?
another selective application of law by the cops again?you wonder the cops work for BN or for the country. heck, BN is not Malaysia and Malaysia is not BN.
brother,
sad, ain't it? i was on my way there when a buddy called up to say nobody even bothered to apply for a permit.
you are right...that should have been the job of the DUNs.
same story every time. power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely....
Stephen, One of the nicest side effects of the I.S.A. is that I've met you! :)
Lita,
Now you made me blush, under my dark tan !
Yes , I too feel that the ISA has brought about people from absolutely varied back-grounds BUT with one common goal of seeing-off a dreadful, discriminative and draconian law abolished for all future generations of Malaysians !
Cheers Lita and Happy New Year !!
Godbless !
I googled for what happened on 28th december in PJ civic centre as I had to be there for my friends wedding that night and the roads were closed. Along the way i also saw FRU trucks. I didnt see you guys outside there as i was inside the hall..
All i can say is THANKS ALOT! you selfish bunch of people. You almost ruined a happy day for my friend and his bride. Just for your selfish reason, you cased alot of hardship for people who wanted to attend the wedding. My family and I had to park outside and walk! with 3 yr old twins in tow!
I hope you are all proud of yourselves.. did it make you sleep better that night? felt like a hero? loved the attention the government is giving you? cheap publicity or 15 minutes of fame?
Im sure alot of PJ residents were also hassled by the blocks. Now i know who is responsible for this. Selfish bunch of people. I dont think you are really fighting for malaysia. This is idiotic. You should all have been arrested! If this is pakatan rakyat, then give me BN anytime. We had peace and tranquility before, now we have silly calls for hudud, your PR fellas washing dirty linen in public and stunts like this??!!
BODOH!!
GA, I hope it does not mean GONE ASKEW. But if it does, it fits. Let me put it simply. You are the type of person who wants to park right in front where you want to be; you are the type who will grumble because at every traffic light you approach it turns red; you are the type who wants EVERYBODY to pick up after you; you are they type who may even want your spouse to take off your shoes; the obnoxious type who shits around and expects others to wipe your ass; essentially, you are the type whose fart has more substance than what you enunciate, always.
Of course, you did not see us because you did not look right before you entered the hall. I hope you did not spoil the wedding with your bad, negative and selfish attitude.
How come despite the road blocks Shanghai and many of us were able to park at the car park and you parked outside and walked (120 steps?). You know why? We used our BRAINS and negotiated with the cops whereas you used your KIDNEYS, presumably.
Gone Astray, come back to reality; walk more, get a life and smell the coffee AFTER YOU HAVE BREWED IT YOURSELF. I rather you call yourself SP in 2009, you Sour Puss.
Anyway Peace to men of goodwill and PISS to men of believe that the whole world is against them.
GA,
you have your head stuck so far up your arse you can't tell the difference between shit and crap.
Who are the real selfish ones? Those who were inconvenienced for one evening or those who are standing up against incarceration without fair trial week after week?
Just in case you are unaware (and you would be because you are so full of shit in the head and has no ability to think straight) is that those whom you called "selfish bunch of people" are also there to fight for your and your family's protection against ISA for the flimsiest of reason. Yeah, you would say it won't happen to you and your family because "we are law abiding people." All i can say is that you and your family have been lucky so far for no goons have trumped up charges against any one of you and filed a police report to have one of you arrested or ISA-ed.
Try applying your reasoning to the 65 or so Malaysians who are still incarcerated by this unjust and evil piece of legislation and perhaps you would begin to see your own selfishness. i don't blame you for not being able to see beyond 'until and unless you or your loved ones is a victim of ISA' you would not awaken to the fact that we should collectively do our bit to get it abolished.
It's so ironical that those who continue to support the ISA could potentially fall victim to the law itself, including those who had a part in enacting and passing the legislation.
GA, it's about time you pull your head out of your arse and smell some fresh air. It will do good to your thinking and set it straight.
As for your friend's and yours one evening of inconvenience, think about those who continue to inconvenience themselves by coming to the vigil every weekend to help abolish a law that you and your friend may be a victim of.
Get it? Or is your head still stuck inside your arse?
GA:
When someone in your family is hauled up by the police and is facing ISA for posting comments on the internet about something seemingly innocent but the govt decides to teach others a lesson by zeroing on your family member;
When someone emails you a doctored picture of a religious leader doing something he ought not to and you forget to delete it but the authorities pick it up and zero in on you for insulting another person's religion and you are facing ISA;
When you in all innocence sit by the mamak stall and talk about how bad the govt is and how stupid their policies are, and the Special Branch officers at a table next to yours decide to teach you a lesson by arresting you under the ISA;
then I hope you will remember the foolish people who stood by the road protesting against the dreadful ISA and how they blocked your route to a wedding that would have taken place irrespective of the jam.
vanitha
GA,
How unfortunate for your friend whose wedding was almost ruined. I feel sad that you had to park very far and walk with two of your kids.
I hope someday your kids read abt how papa bitched about having to walk a long way with them "in tow'.
You seem to be representative of Kiasu Malaysians who have had it easy, and when they didn't, contented themselves with bitching about it. Bitch bitch bitch, grumble, grumble, whine whine whine.
You and perhaps your newly-wedded friend too, maybe oblivious to the raping of Malaysians' civil rights. You won't know this till you or your friend get ISA-ed.
Not only will you not bother with defending your fellow citizens' rights, you have to screw people who do bother.
Shame on you and your likes. Remember, it is folks like these who will light a candle, and march in the streets should you:
1) be blown up by C4
2) be arrested and disappear into Kamunting.
3) be forced to retract your statutory declaration.
4) be roughed up by the cops
5) have your house ransacked and your belongings confiscated.
I guess you will only realise this when it hits you.
But you shud do us the courtesy of not calling us bodoh, because, we obviously thought abt this further than your kiasu brain cud compute.
