i actually think many of these guys are all for this rally, but it's their duty to carry out orders from superiors. it's the way the armed forces and police work.

can't blame most of them. salary is very small. what choice do they have?

They are only following orders and doing their job. The only problem is they have mind, they have heart, and they have spirit. The mind can be controlled to do any bidding, the heart broken to be heartless but the spirit... ah! the spirit yearns for freedom, for peace, for righteosness. For between them and the crowds, are family, friends, and fellow Malaysians whom they know are guilty only of exercising their conscience for what is right.

Too bad I’m out of the country now bro'.. wish I could’ve been with you brave and noble souls...

I am grateful to God that the March was relatively peaceful. I’m glad to hit yours and rocky's blog to get the latest. Seems there’s some sort of a news black-out on the event in mainstream online papers…

Thanks for posting the pictures in "real time". He-he..

Hi Stephen,

Just to let you know that I’ve got my personal account of the rally up. We might need something to collect the accounts of others being at the rally as well.

I’ve split up the account of the rally into 2 parts, the blogger view account is seen at part 2. “The Yellow Revolution Part 2″

you people just played to the hands of the opposition parties. who do these 40K or so demonstrators think they are representing? who? all us rakyat?? sorry to break yr bubble, but that day, you were pawns of the opposition.
sure the opposition claims that BERSIH consists of 60 plus Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and a small "insignificant" number of 5 Opposition political parties, making this a "non political " rally. i hear that all the time from those in favour of the rally.
that statement is nothing more than political tactic made up by the opposition, a cunning and manipulative one. the obvious outcome of such rally is more ppl voting for the opposition. and you all would hv just played into their hands.
they hype the crowd with feel good statements, use the king (who was horse riding in trengganu tht day) to raise the emotions of these pawns , instructed their members (the bulk of protesters) to not waive party flags to reinforce their claim tht this is a rakyat rally not a political one, repeatedly harp on all the bad things BN has done ( which they have - yes im not a BN supporter) , with the extensive news coverage from tv3 to al jazeera, the opposition hit a home run this time. great publicity , and hopefully more angered voters and fence sitters voting for them.

yea yea , i hear u ..of 60 plus non govt org only "insignificant" 5 opposition political parties, or in percentage terms, 7% of bersih is opposition parties.

ok so tell me , why is it that 5 out of 7 delegation that went to to hand the memorandum to the King were leaders of opposition political parties?

sorry to break yr bubble, im a rakyat. u did nothing for me except made a 1/2 hr journey turn into a 3 hr journey thanks to traffic and roadblocks. enough of your 'we did it for malaysia' and yr 'daulat tuanku'..you guys didnt gv an ass abt the tuanku when they were beaten to the ground by DrM. and u didnt do it for malaysia, you did it for the 5 ppl out of 7 that went to see the king... who was in trengganu horse riding.

my name is Skeptic, Stephen Skeptic !

As much as I'd like to believe I can "trust" them, my gut feeling says I will always be suspicious of their sudden betrayal of their party allegiance. Yes, I'd like to rather trust my gut feeling now. And, yes I'm talking about all this new "phenomenon" of many former MCA or former MIC or former UMNO or former this and former that buggers who have jumped camps. Were they jumping camps because they were side-lined by inner-circle party politics or have they been "unloaded" and fallen out-of-favour/flavour/grace and/or in search of a new life-line and platform ?
Yes, you'd argue Anwar and PKR are en-bloc, ex-UMNO but wasn't Pakatan Rakyat warned about this several times by so many ? And the trouble the new Opposition had in Selangor in the early months of take-over with so many within conspiring to bring down and discredit Khalid's administration ? Shouldn't the entire Toyo administration be removed then ? Anwar was warned of this too ! Sure, now that they have got the state in better working order as compared to the then "file shredding" Toyo administration, the current administrative staff now have either "seen the light" and begun to toe the line and in fact have just about redeemed the trust of the public at large to a certain extent, or maybe they ARE they still plotting behind Khalid's back ! Who's to know ?

I would be very uneasy with the PR if they allow ( in fact some of these "new friends" of PR are even "praised and glorified" by certain quarters for their move into PR) these, ironically now in BN's terms labelled, turn-coats, to hold high positions in their new party or even offered seats to contest in the next General Elections. And so now we even have an ex-UMNO minister who was a member in UMNO for 54 years and an aging son of a former DPM joining the exodus ! What can they do now, that they should have done then but were seen to have been, enjoying the gravy-train ride all along ? As the oft heard saying "....you can take the moron out of BN...but you cannot take BN out of the moron..." hehehe !Mistakes in judgment can be very costly or are we suckers for choice of representatives to represent us and take us to the next level of decency in good governance from this cess-pool we call "our" government. You'd wish I was wrong, right ?

Call me skeptic, I really don't give a damn.

It's just dawned on me...!

My cat sleeps about 20 hours a day.
He has his food prepared for him. He can eat whenever he wants.
His meals are provided at no cost to him.
He visits the doctor once a year for his checkup,
and again during the year if any medical needs arise.
For this he pays nothing and nothing is required of him.
He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much
larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep.
If he makes a mess; someone else cleans it up.
He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep.
He receives these accommodations absolutely free.He is living like a King, and has absolutely
no expenses whatsoever.
All of his costs are picked up by others
who go out and earn a living every day.

I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly
it hit me like a ton of bricks....
Yikes....I think my cat is a Member of Parliament
from*contributed by my good friend Vis.

**Disclaimer: The original contribution was about dogs...nawh....I love dogs to bits, so I won't associate them to this party's members even in jest. Apologies and without prejudice to all cat lovers !

And while all this "shit" has hit the fan, you're still okay to vote BN again election after election for 55 years. And these are only the corruption that was "exposed" by the alternate media and the Opposition. The sum of all these mega-corruptions can be attributed to the scheming of just one evil and greedy man who ruled like a tyrant for 22 long years and still won't shut up but passed on, like a fine tradition, the UMNO formula to his successors till today...

And if you're still not convinced you must change the government via ABU, to re-open the above cases and bring to book the people involved in a "just" court of law...I rest my case !

Amen !

the price of arrogance !

The sight that greeted me today at the UKRC was over-whelming ! Talk about 1Malaysia .....hmmm ...well come to think of it, 1Malaysia IS only talk anyway !

Scenes like this has been going on for years dating back to the 60's when there were British soldiers based in Terendek Camp and air bases were run by Aussies in most aerodromes in the peninsular, when families came together every Saturday morning, kids in tow, to spend a day at "their" clubhouse. The men bonded together over a few beers and the women folk spent time talking shop or gossiped or bragged about how well their kids were doing in school. And the kids had the whole field to run wild in the morning sun and play the various games organised by the residents appointed committee and for a long long time all was good.

All that changed when a certain son of an immigrant was appointed to head the Selangor state. Greed ( and he still is famous for !) over-took what little, if any, principles he had as he eyed financial gain for himself and his cronies who encouraged him to poke his filthy fingers into the affairs of this once happy and self reliant community and their clubhouse and playing field ! And the rest is history !

Today, a little over 4 years in power, since the March 2008 "tsunami" Malaysia saw, the new PR government, who had in their election address/promise vowed to return the clubhouse together with the playing field to the community and over-turning the "bull-dozed" gazette that the former BN government via Khir Toyo and his goons, imposed on this clubhouse and playing field collectively known as UKRC ! And word on the ground is, this new chief minister of the Selangor state has acknowledged in principle that the clubhouse belongs to the residence BUT the field is to be in the state's and the chief minister's pleasure ! Damn these new government if that happened.

There are about a thousand members in this club. Let's take into consideration their spouses and other members of their families. Can we put about 4,000 eligible voters in this small residential garden as a whole of this community. Think what happens in the next GE when this community is scorned if the state rules against their favour and confiscate the field and only allow them ownership of the clubhouse !

Think Khalid, think and think fast, you moron ! You'd be no better then the old government when it comes to living up to your election promises....or are you even worse then the old crooks ? Walk the talk and don't expect the simple but dedicated and responsible folks of Ulu Klang to come begging for scraps.

Give UKRC ( the whole package- their clubhouse and their field ) back to the residents of UK with no deals attached.....or face the wrath of over 4,000 tax-paying voters and their families in the next GE !

Below are pictures of today's gathering at the UKRC.....like any other Saturday morning from the days of our colonial masters. Enjoy !

Cheers Andrew Gopal...."keeper" of faith of the UKRC !

peeweet.....game over for PR in Selangor ?

Hahaha....I like my fellow Taipingite brother Yushaimi's header for his weekly "For the Record" column today .....opps yesterday in the Malay Mail which read "Red card for state govt ?" ....read the full story here !

Well Mr. big-shot MB Khalid of Selangor state....that's the ultimatum all the folks in the Ulu Klang area are surely giving you IF you so not give them back their "home", getit ? I am tired of all this "red-tape" and feet-dragging bullshit now of not honouring your pre-March2008 election promises. Remember there are a thousand voters waiting with bated breath for an end to this UKRC ownership saga, in their favour or you lose 1,000 votes for your precious Pakatan Rakyat and even your position as Menteri Besar when your 'boss' Azmin runs amok gunning for reasons why Pakatan Rakyat lost Selangor !

And don't you dare say you were not warned Mr. Chief Minister ! Yes, in fact numerous times by the Malay Mail and a few bloggers ( yours truly included !). Woot woot !

By the way Mr. MB, did you know these same thousand odd voters together with their families are "protesting" this Saturday the 7th. April 2012 at 10 am. at their home ground-UKRC ??

p.s.... think I'll "turun padang" too this Saturday @ 10am. at UKRC just to lend Andrew and his ordinary caring Malaysians some support. Jom anyone ??
